seeing red

As I peruse the pages of Vogue’s September issue I’m reminded that red is trending in a maje way.  Within the first ten pages, Prada, Dior and Ralph Lauren all have campaign imagery demonstrating this hot fall/winter color.   I’m a forever fan of a red lip, but am excited to work the tone into my overall styling.  Whether it be a sweater, bold pant or pop in an accessory, I will definitely be seeing red this season.  A few key pieces that make the cut…

I have been eye’ing these See by Chloe booties for weeks and finally pulled the trigger – they are in route to my house, oh yeah!  An investment for fall but like I mentioned here, certain items are worth the expense – boots one of them in my shopping rule book.  These should take me through a few seasons, hitting both fashion and function objectives.  I’m loving the trending chunky heel which will prove to be comfortable for traipsing around the city.  The gold hardware satisfies my edgy side while the sleek silhouette keeps things sexy and classic.  Similar styles like this from Pour La Victoire, these amazing cut out booties by Tibi and these from Steve Madden are also pretty sweet.  I have outfit ideas coming out of my ears which are looking something like this…

work babes

As the brand stylist for the Joe Fresh owned Australian company Mix, I get to work with these little rugrats on a monthly basis.  Shot by Candy Kennedy, here’s a peek at one of our first shoots together.  In a few weeks I’ll share photos of the most recent (and a behind the scenes video), featuring the brands beautiful spokesperson, Ashley Hart with Daniel MacPherson.  Love those two – major babes.

Have a great weekend everyone!  xx jenny

camo chameleon

camouflage portraitCamouflage is trending for fall as demonstrated in fashion week earlier this year.  From jackets to pants to accessories, the market is infiltrated.  Three pieces have already found there way into my closet including this mega steal I scooped up from Old Navy which Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch recommended.  I left these behind during a try-on sesh at Bloomingdales and my portfolio has lived in this bag for years which I snagged from an authentic army/navy shop – an easy and cheap way to work the military trend without spending a lot of money.  This season camo will be treated like a neutral, mixed with unexpected prints such as plaid which adds freshness and a new dimension to an oldie but goodie.  How will you work it?  A few looks to get your juices flowin’…

surf-chic: part 2

the man repellerPiggy-backing on this post from yesterday, here’s another take on surf chic.  All white from head-to-toe wreaks of breezy beach-style, but the second layer adds just enough polish for the office.  Plus – as far as shoes go, you can’t get any more comfortable than Birkenstocks.  Lose the blazer and throw on a red lip for after work cocktails.  Shop it here….
