Whether you actually craft a tangible new years resolution list or not, now is a time for reflection. It’s a moment to look back and think about what you’ve accomplished, what you didn’t get to and what you would like to target for the coming year. I try to reassess on a continuous basis, asking myself questions about progress and ways to improve, but if that’s not your style – use this marker as an opportunity. The new year creates a space to recalibrate and “start over”. It sets a new baseline. There is no time better than now to pursue your dreams, take that vacation, get in shape, whatever! As I look back on the year, 2013 goes down in the books as a life changing one for me. I mustered up the courage to walk away from my steady corporate fashion career, recognizing I had to let go in order to live on. This decision allowed me to nurture a desire to spread my entrepreneurial wings, while simultaneously creating a platform that brings awareness to the cross-section between style and mindfulness. With the launch of Your Soul Style, I have been able to make that happen. I do what I love and am passionate about reaching a wider audience with the message that we should always be embracing our authentic selves. That is the heartbeat of this blog! I am beyond grateful for having the love and support of friends, family, readers and especially my wife, Dina. Without all of you, this could not be possible. I cannot wait to see what happens in 2014 and I thank you for joining me on this journey and always keeping me inspired!
Here are a few goals I am setting for the coming year. Now, what are yours?
Hope you all have a happy, healthy and safe New Years Eve! I will see you in 2014! xx jenny

Inspired by this post and fellow bloggers, instagrammers and tastemakers around the globe, I decided to recap my first year of YSS with a “STYLE: the best of 2013” tribute. Here is a snapshot of some favorite looks from this past year. There were obvious consistencies in my overall styling, wearing mostly solid pieces and maintaining an urban boho sensibility. And I personalized each ensemble with details like hats, bags, sunnies and scarves. Style is about authenticity and finding your own rhythm, but like our mental and emotional selves, it should always be evolving. Thinking outside the box provides an opportunity for growth and if something is uncomfortable, you can simply change course. Just like Teddy Roosevelt said, “it is better to have tried and failed, than not have tried at all.” I took some chances in 2013 (ahem, crop tops!) and I can’t wait to see what develops in the coming year! My crystal ball says I will be taking many more risks. Stay tuned and join me!

If you are exhausted from holiday shopping, my advice is to pony up, take a breath and dive back in. The retail space is overflowing with sales, making right now one of the the best times to stock up and save on items you’ve been coveting. And I don’t blame you for not wanting to enter stores during the post christmas madness that will ensue. But that’s the beauty of the interweb! I’ve been falling down the e-commerce rabbit hole and I stumbled upon spanish store Mango where all fall and winter items are reduced 50%. Here’s a peek inside my virtual shopping cart! What’s in yours?
SHOP IT: 1. quilted sweatshirt, $59.99 ($29.99, sale) // 2. mango suit blazer, $99.99 ($49.99 sale) // 3. floral print trousers, $79.99 ($39.99 sale) // 4. striped modal t-shirt, $34.99 ($14.99)
…and a few others on my ‘to do’ list. Happy weekend!
