bang for your buck!

wishlist - 2

The key to building an efficient wardrobe is finding pieces that can be re-worked into multiple outfits.  To accomplish this, a productive exercise when shopping is to think about what you can pair back to the item you’re eyeing – whether it be with something that exists in your closet or one that you need (i.e., a good pair of denim!).  If you can create 3 – 5 outfit ideas in your head on the spot, this item has potential for a lot of wear (which will also help you determine if it’s worth the investment)!  I recently made this fall wishlist post which included key seasonal pieces like a playful sweatshirt and leather skirt.  Here are four outfit ideas (there are much more!) styled from the edits adding accessories and basics to complete the look!  Your closet doesn’t need to be busting at the seams with endless items.  Always remember, less is more!  Strategizing your wardrobe will not only help you save space and money, but will force you to think about purchasing pieces that you love thus will go the distance.  Happy shopping ya’ll!  xx jenny

wide leg pantsOh. My. God.  I’ve been on a wild goose chase to find pants exactly like these in the above photo.  I have a gem of an old pair that I scooped up from Forever 21 a couple years back, but need 1 – 2 more.  I absolutely love for a multitude of reasons: the high waist, the wide leg, the tweed texture = pure heaven.  Plus – I die for styling details that remind me of the 70’s fashion era and a high waist screams Studio 54!  Flattering on most body types, this is a piece that will turn your frown upside down on those pesky mornings where you and a tight fit are enemies (don’t you love those days?  we all have them).  The fitted tee and cropped jacket give the total look a sexy, yet relaxed feel.  Stay away from overly baggy tops that will hide the top of the pant which should hit you at the smallest area.  The high waist creates length which will off set the width of the leg keeping the illusion of a longer and leaner silhouette.  Style tip:  Don’t be afraid to size up.  The pant fit should be loose on the leg and and the inseam should drop and not hug your body.  Shop similar here.  xx jenny

what i wore: weekend event

Hello and happy Tuesday! This past weekend we had a family affair that consisted of three separate events: a Friday night dinner, a Bar Mitzvah ceremony followed by lunch on Saturday, ending with another dinner Saturday night. My goal when coordinating for this was to style three unique looks that catered to the feel of each party. Friday night was an opportunity to bring a little sass since it had a meet & greet, cocktail’y vibe. Saturday day needed to be more conservative since the Bar Mitzvah took place in temple (shoulders covered). And once Saturday night rolled around I knew I’d be done with heels so sought out something super comfy yet still chic! Here’s a breakdown of all of the looks (with a few substitutions for pieces that are unavailable) and me on instagram in two out of the three. Do you have an event coming up that you need help shopping for? A wedding? Cocktail party? Vacation? Reach out and contact me directly at for personal styling inquires. xx jenny

transition mode

josefinCould there possibly be a better summer into fall transition ensemble than this?  I sometimes find myself confused about what to wear when the season comes to a close, but yet it’s too early for sweaters.  When you’re holding on to the last bit of warmth before the brisk weather settles in – what’s a gal to do?  This outfit has got me inspired.  The white tee keeps things light for those seventy degree days and the moto jacket is an ideal piece to layer on in the morning and post-sunset.  Although the silhouette of the pant demonstrates a summery feel, adding the leather and going with the trending color red says you’re serious about fall!  Shop similar here…
