weekend reform

It’s Friday – finally!  We’ve made it and the weekend is here.  Hope you all have something enjoyable planned and are spending time with your favorite people.  Rounding out my week of shopping posts – I thought I’d offer you a final tip to take you into the weekend.

I happened upon reformation when I was shopping the LES  (LES = lower east side) for my pre-wedding dinner outfit.  I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going for however I knew I wanted to look edgy (black was a must) to counter the white dress that would happen the next night.  So alas – reformation appeared.  Choices galore – between the backless jumpsuits and plunging neckline maxi dresses I was like a kid in a candy store.  I wound up with this gem, felt perfect and certainly achieved my fashion goal for the night – reformation had done me right.  With no question I had found exactly what I had been looking for.  On top of them carrying a stellar fashion collection from an aesthetic point of view, it is “an environmentally sustainable fashion brand that repurposes vintage and surplus materials.  Their collection is made locally in the New York and Los Angeles studios, and sold directly to their stores at fair prices”  Get the full story here.  Head over to the site if you’re not native to NYC or LA because they ship throughout the US, free on orders over $50.  It’s kind of a win all around, right?

Here are some of my favorites that I’m coveting from the spring/summer collection.

head to toe for under $150!

Hello friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. A portion of mine was spent working and as part of my research I got to thinking about fashion on a budget (how appropriate for tax day?). It is certainly not easy to pull together a complete head to toe look for less than $150 – however I made it my goal to do just that. I’m always up for a challenge, especially when it involves shopping! If you haven’t heard of H&M’s Conscious collection I’m happy to be the one to introduce it to you. Not only is it made from sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester, but in true H&M form – the price is just right. This spring was their second take (or re-launch) of the collection and it was filled with tons of party favorites. This jumpsuit was in the collection and I may as well have fell on the floor when I saw it – between the price, eco-friendliness and overall aesthetic, it’s a fashion dream come true. I’ve combed the worldwide web for accessories to top it off and as promised have kept the price point below $150! Enjoy! xx #yoursoulstyle

going green

I stumbled upon this gem at refinery29 and knew they were onto something when it was pulled for their St.Patrick’s Day tribute story.  I know that most girls typically grab this out of their closet for the day ‘o green, but I dare you to embrace your inner fashion leprechaun and go bolder.  Try something like this jumpsuit from Catherine Malandrino for your party going and don’t apologize when everyone is green with envy (wink, wink!).  Happy St. Patty’s Day and be safe!

A special shout out to my beautiful nephew Max who turns seven this Sunday!  Happy Birthday Max!!!
