seeing red

prada

As I peruse the pages of Vogue’s September issue I’m reminded that red is trending in a maje way.  Within the first ten pages, Prada, Dior and Ralph Lauren all have campaign imagery demonstrating this hot fall/winter color.   I’m a forever fan of a red lip, but am excited to work the tone into my overall styling.  Whether it be a sweater, bold pant or pop in an accessory, I will definitely be seeing red this season.  A few key pieces that make the cut…

it’s a draw

alexander wang diego bagFall fashion 2013 and a drawstring bag (also referred to as a bucket bag) go together like peas and carrots.  Not your traditional silhouette but an epic throwback to one of my favorite fashion eras: the 80’s.  Everyone loves a good comeback, right?  Here are a few of my picks for the season!  Happy hump day!  xx jenny

I cannot stop shopping!  ‘Tis the season?  Wait – no, that’s December.  In any case, I am eager for the warmth and uber enticed from all of the amazing product landing this season.  We can’t buy everything we want, right?  To satiate our fashion appetite (at least for a minute) without breaking the bank I’ve searched the interweb and pulled ten of my favorite spring items for less than $100!  Affordable, cute, trend right and wear now.  Happy shopping!  #yoursoulstyle

that’s so clutch…

thatssoclutchcover

If it were up to me I’d carry a clutch endlessly.  I would have to figure out a way to magically shrink my essentials to fit into the compromised space – but since we now have Jetson’s-like conversations between iphones a la facetime anything’s possible, right?  I digress.  Clutches are the perfect outfit completer and can take the most casual head to toe ensemble and transform it into a super stylish look.  If it’s a work day and you have a date or a dinner with the girls – I’d suggest throwing one into your (most likely over-sized) day bag.  When it’s time to head out, leave the bulky stuff in your desk drawer – exchange your hobo, satchel or tote bag for the handheld chic one and grab what you need for the evening – cash, keys, id, phone and a touch up lip.  Now how clutch is that?  I’m loving these…   *above photo via here

look of the week: opposites attract

Leopard and chambray are an “opposites attract” kind of pair and come together in a most ideal relationship.  A staple chambray shirt (a must have for your wardrobe!) combined with a fierce and very on trend leopard piece achieve a preppy yet edgy and cool aesthetic.   Work it with a pair of denim or a simple black pencil skirt.  I’d wear it like this…
