Hello friends…’s almost Thursday – home stretch til the weekend, yeah!  In the meantime, I felt it was my duty to pass on the info that my favorite (and seriously best!) shopping website ever, is having a family and friends event!  Since my posts this week have put an emphasis on budget conscious fashion, the timing works out well!  This sale is definitely kind of “maje” (as Rachel Zoe says, = major).  Shopbop is chock full of great finds and for me has served many epic virutal shopping sprees!  Through tomorrow they are offering 20% off of your entire order (this includes sale) with the code “wearefamily13″.  With a deal like that –  you bet we are family.  I’ve already ordered this and I’m coveting thisthis and this.  Check it out and enjoy!  xx #yoursoulstyle

pump up the volume

When I stumbled upon these zara combined court pumps I had a mini heart attack – they spoke to me.  I’m a sucker for ikat anything!  Somewhere in zara heaven (or in spain where the home office is) the designers created these little gems.  They are a combined classic and bohemian, have the most perfect heel height (especially for you city dwellers who walk everywhere) and are a mere $79!  Yes, you heard that right.  It’s easy to go neutral when it comes to footwear (this said by the queen of black – me), but how about starting with these as your ‘wow’ factor and then choosing your top and bottom second!  Shoes don’t have to be the add ons – why not make them the star?   “But Jenny, these pumps are too busy – what do I wear them with?”  I’ve got you covered my fellow fashionistas and have pulled together complete head-to-toe options to prove how versatile these puppies can be!

If I haven’t convinced you yet, zara has over 100 more choices – all of which are mostly under $100!  Take a peek!  And for all you cynics out there, they make incredibly comfortable shoes which also have a long shelf life.  My most favorite black booties that I’ve worn to death for the past 5 years and have never had to bring to the cobbler are from there.

Happy shopping!  xx

viva espana!

Dina and I vacationed in Barcelona back in 2009 and fell in love with the city and country. We loved it so much that we discussed buying a second home there rationalizing “it’s just a little bit further than California, why not?” (Don’t worry Mom, that fantasy was short lived.)  One of the aspects that I truly identified with was their fashion sense. A relaxed bohemian style with an edge, it felt relatable and just my speed. The women were beautiful, confident and chic but not in a forced way. I loved it! While shopping one day we found the most amazing retail store called Massimo Dutti and both could not get enough of it. It reminded me of Zara (my favorite store) so no surprise that they are owned by the same parent company, Inditex.  Like the GAP in the States and H&M in Europe, there was one on every corner. We went into all of them saying to each other “this one may have something different than the last – we can’t miss out.” I’m ecstatic to tell you all that this Spanish gem has arrived in NYC. It opened this past October (the store is on Fifth between 55th and 56th) and today I paid it my first visit.

It was everything I remembered so I stacked up on some great sweaters (that were on sale) and super cute spring pants. I had to share this news because if you’re like me and appreciate this expression of style (a more refined Zara), the price points are fantastic!  And for all you boys out there – you’re in luck! They carry Mens. Go check it out and tell me what you think. Happy shopping!!!! A few things I picked up today:
