I told you that I’d be wearing this Topshop off-the-shoulder top and these Rag & Bone jeans endlessly, so putting them together is an obvious match made in (what I consider) style-heaven! Topping it off with these urban boho accessories (and “Scarlet Begonias” playing on iTunes), this look is for the perfect modern streetstyle hippie. These gladiator sandals which I scooped up from Ancient Greek are also a summer essential, worn with anything from denim, to maxi dresses to shorts. And everyone should own at least one pair of aviator sunnies, if not these Raybans then try these from Asos, these from Stella McCartney or this affordable option from Topshop . Peace out yo!
Memorial Day means sales are bountiful! In between the BBQ’s, parties and beach going, now is the time to shop and stock up! I found my way over to Shopbop where with sales up to 70% off, this jumpsuit by Dolce Vita, these distressed army pants by Rag & Bone, this wear with anything summer dress from ONE by Pink Stitch, this nude sandal update by Alexander Wang and this beach cocktail ready tie dye dress by Young, Fabulous & Broke are patiently waiting in my shopping cart.

One more week until the unofficial kick off to Summer and you can literally feel the seasons transitioning once Memorial Day rolls around. Even if the weather hasn’t fully shifted, there is just something in the air that changes. Which begs the question, what am I wearing to the BBQ’s, picnics, cocktails at sunset, boat rides, shindigs and parties to kick things off? I’m thinking super cute transition items that say, “I know it’s still not quite Summer yet, but here’s a little teaser.” A few ideas that will take you from now until Fall…

When a new season begins, I like to add newness into my wardrobe to keep things fresh. And a key strategy is finding items that can easily transition, keeping their shelf life longer then three months. Items that are “wear now”, can easily be paired down for the warmer months ahead. What you wear today with boots can be switched out for sandals, and a jacket or cardigan can easily be removed when the temperature starts to climb. It is all about layering, my friends! H&M is an ideal destination to snag spring/summer 2014 trends like floral, chambray, crop tops, sheer and fringe because the longevity of these styles’ can be questionable. The goal is to not break the bank on fast fashion choices. I hopped on over and pulled together a few current pieces to get you started. And keep in mind – you do NOT have to wait until memorial day to start wearing white. Get on it…
Dina and I started the semi-serious conversation about moving because although we love our apartment, we simply need more space. I avoid this chat like the plague because despite the excitement of a new home, it’s stressful and nerve-racking at the same time. New York City is a tough market to find a dream situation and one way or another, you are compromising somewhere (unless you’re SJP & Matthew Broderick). Whether it be natural light, a doorman, neighborhood, closet size or layout – you are not going to find everything you want in one place. It’s the nature of the beast. That being said, the decorating is all yours! My ever-growing home pinterest board is full of inspiring spaces and I can’t wait to implement some of these amazing ideas! Along with the ones mentioned here and here. Happy weekend! Hope you stay cozy in your home!
And happy love day to you and yours! xx jenny
