a/w 2014: by malene birger

I fell in love with Danish fashion designer, Malene Birger when I purchased this By Malene Birger coat in early fall, so checking out her Autumn/Winter 2014 show online during Copenhagen Fashion Week was an absolute must.  Looking back, early fall was probably just a crush since after seeing this new collection, I can now say with serious conviction it’s a full on obsession.  Like the real deal kind.  I have never witnessed styling as in sync with my personal taste, so much so that I feel like Malene and I could have collaborated together in a past life.  One look after the next was/is brilliant and I’d wear entire head-to-toe ensembles, changing nada!  Relaxed, edgy, hints of boho, effortless layering, impeccable details, embellishment in just the right places and all completely wearable!  It’s what I like to describe as my BP (best possible).  Consider me over the moon inspired, which I really needed as of late!  Here’s a snapshot of some favorites, but check out the entire show here.  And of course, happy Monday!  xx jenny

swap meet

jennyRemember this post when I told you about this coat? Well – it came, but quickly so it went. After arriving by way of London via farfetch.com, they accidentally had sent the wrong size! It was a disappointing moment in the Greenstein-Weisberger household since it had traveled across the Atlantic and was unavailable in the States. While waiting to exchange it for the right size and mulling over if I should just return it all together, I happened upon this. Cheaper than the Malene Birger and similar in silhouette, it felt like a sign to let the other one go. So I did, and had a few extra bucks in my pocket, to boot. Here is the coat from Zara that I swapped it for, paired with the boyfriend jeans I wear endlessly and topped off with some bling.

SHOP IT: coat: Zara, top: old (similar), jeans: GAP, shoes: J.Crew (similar), bag: Louis Vuitton, sunnies: Ray-Ban (similar), ring: old (similar), bangles: vintage & from india (similar), rhinestone bracelet: j.crew (similar), cuff: old (similar)

hello, yellow

Louis-Vuitton-Spring-2013
Yellow is hitting it hard this season as demonstrated in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 runway show.  I have never been a mega fan of the color however while perusing the interweb I found some goodies that have convinced me otherwise.  It’s definitely a tough shade for us fair skin girls but throw on a red lip for pop of color and I think it may do the trick.  Or you can just go with yellow accessories.  A few items on the radar…
