One area my clients always forget to update is their intimates…
…but whether it’s bras, underwear, slips or shapewear, foundation pieces (and how they fit) are important because our bodies are constantly changing.
Not to mention they make a huge difference in how our clothing fits.
Whenever I’m with a new client, one of the first things I ask is: Are your intimates working for or against you?
Feeling empowered from the inside out is a layered process. Quite literally.
Suffice to say…
A few PRO TIPS:
• Create an intimate wardrobe with intention and don’t treat it as an afterthought. These first layers affect the entirety of your total look.
• Evaluate your bra size periodically, especially after weight gain/loss, pregnancy, nursing, etc. Two places to get fitted in NYC: @bratendersnyc + @townshopnyc
• Shapewear is your friend. It’s for all body types. Stock up on slips, control pieces and bodysuits which make high impact on how your clothes fit (brands: @spanx , @wearcommando@wolford@yummieofficial )
• Comfortable undergarments CAN be sexy. You just have to find the right brand, fit and style
• Update your underwear periodically. It loses its structure over time and there’s no worse feeling than putting on underwear that isn’t holding its shape. Am I right?
• If you don’t need tons of hold in your undergarments, affordable brands like @zara , @freepeople and @aerie make SUPER pretty intimates 🤍
My two favorite brands right now are @skims and @negativeunderwear mainly because they serve such a wide range of people + body types – mine included. If you have boobs and a butt – these two brands are 🙌🏼🙌🏽
What are some of your fave brands?? Collecting all the data 🤍
